How to get comments for your posts: Do what comedians do for instant applause and announce your bday/anniversary/big event.

Okay. So I was supposed to post some pictures on here. And I found a few free moments. Here's the deal though: Dug took off to Pennsylvania and came home. I downloaded (finally!) all the photos from my camera (713 of them!) onto the computer. Our new friends (and only ones within 45 minutes of us) went on vacation. Dug took off to Pennsylvania, again. I decided to take this time of isolation and abandonment and, instead of going to church by myself and getting to know my community and neighbors better, I grabbed my kids and ran away to San Antonio. My parents live there now. I know. Cowardly. But there it is.

Unfortunately, all those great new photos are in Houston and I'm in San Antonio with an empty SD card in my camera. That's why there are no photos today. My youngest son turned four and I could post a few pics, but I'll save those for Shnozberry and just make this a big "excuses" post instead.

I know, just what you wanted to read. Dug says, "Excuses are like holes in peoples' butts. Everyone has one and they all stink." Lovely, isn't it? You have to admit that it's pretty descriptive, though. And true.

So I guess to redeem this post, I'll make it informative rather than excusative. (Is that even a word? I don't think so, but I like it.) Some news: I'm 15 weeks pregnant with my fifth child, we didn't plan it and it's a surprise, but we're happy. We like the name Emma, but we won't know the sex until April.

How's that for post redemption?

Congrats!! I had a feeling that was what you were eluding to on ur "some semblance of normality" post but wasn't 100%. Insane!!! Darla is completing week 12 and we're due April 24th, we'll find out gender in December because we're both Type A and control freaks (imagine that). We are liking the name Landry but I'm not putting it into baby naming full gear until after gender is discovered.

Again CONGRATS! Wow 5 kids! I'm developing a twitch.

PS make sure I get your new email address.

quentin - dude! darla and i are only a few weeks apart. that's cool. Landry would go well with Regan. and my "special" middle name isn't so special. you might be mistaking me with someone else...

thanks gina. i've said it before and i'm sure i'll say it again: your pics are soooo beautiful. gorgeousness doesn't even begin to describe them.

oh paris. you sweetheart. it's comments like yours that bring a smile to my face.

liz - i don't want you to get your hopes up because it may not materialize, but i'm sooo trying to get up to see you guys sometime, one of these weeks when dug travels before "the big event" me and the kids might make it up kansas-way. let's cross out fingers...

I was referring to your suggestion of Danger as a middle name. Probably not a good idea for a girl.

But most importantly I wanted to pass on some information seeing that there are many baby lovers reading your blog...

Darla and I have friends who have been trying like mad to have children. Their last resort was in vetro. At the 1% of it occurring, three eggs went in, three eggs took and developed. Two boys, one girl.

Cathi is at 22 weeks and has run into disastrous complications. Saturday afternoon, one of the boys came into the world 2 weeks before the doctors said they would do anything to sustain his life. After an hour of fighting for his own life, Raiden Landon passed away.

His brother and sister are still in the womb and as we know now are doing well. They have been running a blog I wanted to pass along to you.

I am not a religious person but I wanted to spread the word so that we could get as many thoughts and prayers for Cathi, Logan, Ryker London, and Gwyneth Bella. They have wanted children and have been trying everything and anything to help to fulfill that dream. Cathi and Logan will be great parents. There are plenty bad people in this world easily having kids that we need as many good people as we can to carry on their parent's goodness.

Their blog site is http://havingtriplets.blogspot.com/

aha! sorry for my slowness on the uptake. Now that we have the potential for another boy, though, I revoke your rights for using the name "Danger." It's mine. :-)

thanks for the website. we'll pray for them. i can't imagine how difficult it must be to lose a child. thank goodness the other two are doing fine.
